Hot for fashion? Head to Cowbridge Fashion Week
You might have heard of New York Fashion Week, or even London Fashion Week. But true fashionistas will be flocking to be at Cowbridge Fashion Week in Wales this year. If you haven’t heard about Cowbridge, listen up as we let the cat out of the bag...
Taking place on September 17th, 18th and 19th, Cowbridge Fashion Week will showcase the town’s many fashion clothing stores and will include fashion shows as well as a whole string of parties throughout Cowbridge with late-night openings.
Cowbridge is a pretty market town in the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales, located close to the capital city, Cardiff. With a population of under 4,000 people, this small town punches above its weight with a High Street brimming with boutique shops covering fashion; jewelry, beauty and spas; gifts; galleries; and interior design. In fact, the town has been referred to as the Bond Street of Wales. Great restaurants serve locally-produced food and drink, and there are also farm shops and a farmers market. There are a host of accommodation options including The Bear Hotel (www.bearhotel.com), a historic coaching inn.
Shops like Pebble (www.pebbleclothing.co.uk) and Visage (www.visagecowbridge.co.uk) sell brand label clothing as well as handmade vintage bags and jewelry. Havana Boutique (www.havanaboutique.co.uk), voted best clothes shop in Wales by the Western Mail, plays an important part in Cowbridge Fashion Week. Cherry Hill (www.cherry-hill.co.uk) combines cutting edge fashion with stylish items for the home. Streetwear is catered for at Amici (www.amicicowbridge.co.uk). And Terminal 9 (www.terminalnine.com) offers a range of high-end menswear with shoppers including Welsh celebs’ and rugby players. Those a just some of Cowbridge’s fashion offerings, with many more waiting to be explored.
And it’s not all shopping. While in Cowbridge, visitors can also enjoy Cowbridge Physic Garden (www.cowbridgephysicgarden.org.uk); check out work from local artists at the Kingfisher Gallery (www.kingfishergallery.co.uk); or take a guided tour of Glyndwr Vineyard (www.glyndwrvineyard.co.uk).
